Focus Gold Corp Makes Significant Progress in Advancing Its Porphyry Gold-Copper System in Nayarit, Mexico
(firmenpresse) - RENO, NV -- (Marketwire) -- 09/14/11 -- Focus Gold Corporation (OTCBB: FGLD) has made significant progress in advancing its porphyry related gold project in Nayarit State, Mexico. Detailed geologic mapping at 1:5000 and 1:500 scale in the Cila claim block has identified a potassically altered composite pluton composed of diatreme breccia, diorite, granodiorite and granite. Intense potassic alteration, typical of what is found in the core of porphyry gold-copper systems, is developed over a three square kilometre area within which four field teams are currently conducting geologic mapping and detailed sampling.
Surface sampling of vein, stockwork and disseminated gold and copper mineralization has identified a dozen target areas which will be described in more detail as mapping progresses and analytical results are received from the laboratory. The objective, as results are received and interpreted, is to advance these targets to drill target stage while continuing to discover new additional target areas.
High grade assays from vein mineralization on the property (over 43 grams per tonne gold) have been reported in previous Company announcements. The best channel sample received to date from disseminated mineralization has returned The channel sample was taken from a zone of disseminated (stockwork) mineralization near the intrusive contact. Detailed follow up work on this target area is currently being conducted.
