Operational update for the third quarter of 2009
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Rig utilisation in the third quarter of 2009 was 96 per cent.MSV Regalia started operation for BP at the Valhall field in theNorwegian North Sea on 12 July and has been in operation throughoutthe rest of the third quarter.Safe Scandinavia started operation for Shell at the Shearwater fieldin the UK North Sea at the end of July.Safe Astoria was in layup at the Kemaman yard in Malaysia most of thethird quarter, after SEIC in the beginning of February terminated thecontract for convenience. During the third quarter, Prosafe hasreceived 85 per cent of the day rate from SEIC. Safe Astoriacommenced a new contract for Shell at the Malampaya Shallow WaterPlatform offshore Palawan in the Philippines in early October.All other vessels have been fully utilised in the third quarter.Prosafe is the world's leading owner and operator of semi-submersibleaccommodation/service rigs.
