(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Ahlstrom Corporation PRESS RELEASE 6.10.2009Ahlstrom Corporation, leading supplier of nonwovens and specialtypapers, has today issued a proposal to start a cooperation procedureat its Altenkirchen plant in Germany. The negotiations starting onTuesday October 6th concern the whole personnel of the plant. Theadjustments are estimated to result in a reduction of approximately65 positions impacting both blue-collar and white-collar employees.The already started efforts and the possible reduction of employeesare targeted to adapt the production volumes of specialty materialsfor automotive, building and industrial applications to match thedemand.Ahlstrom's plant in Altenkirchen is part of the company's TechnicalPapers business area. The main production of this site consists ofsealing and shielding materials as well as base paper for calenderbowls.
