Media Advisory: Minister Oda to Mark End of East Africa Drought Relief Fund at Care Canada

(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 09/15/11 -- The Honourable Beverley J. Oda, Minister of International Cooperation, will visit the Ottawa offices of CARE Canada to make a personal donation to the growing humanitarian crisis in East Africa. This event is to promote the East Africa Drought Relief Fund, announced by Minister Oda on July 22nd.

Until Friday at midnight, for every dollar donated by Canadians to eligible Canadian charities, the Government will contribute a dollar for the Fund. Canadians have a long history of showing leadership and compassion. This Fund will allow Canadians to participate in relief efforts for the region and the Government will recognize their participation by adding an equivalent amount to its own relief efforts.
