Several companies have profited from these new advances in technology and it is been intriguing to watch the power struggles unfold among them. Some so referred to as heavyweights have all but disappeared, whereas new children on the block like Google and Facebook are huge.
Then you will find the massive boys like Intel, Microsoft and Apple that have been around because the beginning. Still going powerful and as energetic and ingenious with regards to product developments and marketing as ever.
Intel and Apple are even operating together in collaboration, lately releasing their new Thunderbolt technologies. An exciting new, high-speed, dual-protocol I/O technology that boasts speeds of 10Gbps. In the future this may increase to 100Gbps through an optical medium.
It's by no means straightforward predicting the future but for me one thing is for specific. Which is in relation to technology; it is not going to become boring.
