Ahold share buyback update

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, September 19, 2011 - Ahold has repurchased
2,231,000 Ahold common shares in the period from September 12, 2011 up to and
including September 16, 2011. The shares were repurchased at an average price of
? 8.1825 per share for a total consideration of ? 18.26 million. These
repurchases were made as part of the ? 1 billion share buyback program announced
on March 3, 2011.
The total number of shares repurchased under this program to date is 46,726,339
common shares for a total consideration of ? 418.26 million.
