MEDITECH Hires Physician to Strengthen Clinical Focus
(firmenpresse) - WESTWOOD, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/19/11 -- MEDITECH is excited to announce that Steven Jones, MD, Family Practice Physician, will join the MEDITECH staff in September. Dr. Jones will act as the company's lead physician for Electronic Health Record (EHR) development efforts, while also working across MEDITECH on multiple clinical projects.

Throughout his tenure at Exeter Hospital (Exeter, NH), Dr. Jones was an informatics physician in addition to his specialties in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Family Medicine. He has been a long-time member of MEDITECH's Physician Advisory Committee, and an outspoken participant in MEDITECH's annual Physician Forum, leading discussions on key industry issues as well as giving direction on MEDITECH's system functionality.

A board-certified attending physician since 1999, Dr. Jones has experience in the full range of family practice, including obstetrics, pediatrics, adolescent and adult medicine and geriatrics. His experience includes both the inpatient and outpatient settings, leading to a broad understanding of hospital and outpatient workflow.
Dr. Jones was directly involved in the implementation and ongoing development of the outpatient EMR solution at Lamprey Healthcare, a network of clinics across New Hampshire. This EMR project received the HIMSS Davies Award of Excellence in 2008. Dr. Jones served as Exeter Hospital's Information Systems Medical Director from 2005 through 2008, and has served as Informatics Physician (a role equivalent to CMIO) for Exeter Hospital since 2009.
