Ruukki to provide structures for new 400-metre bridge over Kyrönsalmi

(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Press release 9 October 2009Ruukki has signed a contract to deliver and install the steelstructures for a bridge over the Kyrönsalmi strait in Savonlinna,Finland. The bridge is part of the highway 14 development project.Ruukki's customer in the project is YIT Construction Ltd.The new bridge will be built to the south of the existing bridgespanning the Kyrönsalmi strait. The bridge will be over 400 metreslong and consist of a steel composite girder bridge and a basculebridge to allow clearance for shipping.The high degree of prefabrication of Ruukki's structures togetherwith carefully planned site operations enable prompt delivery andhelp to ensure that the entire bridge is completed to schedule."Choosing Ruukki as our partner means we can focus our resources onimplementing this demanding bridge project.
