Effective September 19, 2011, Insight Venture Partners sold its stake in
DailyDeal GmbH to Google, Inc.
Founded in 2009 by Fabian and Ferry Heilemann, DailyDeal GmbH established a
fast growing internet based platform for local bargain deals. DailyDeal
GmbH was since financed by various venture capitalists and business angels.
The Willkie team advising Insight Venture Partners was led by Gordon Caplan
(Corporate/Private Equity, New York) and Dr. Stefan Joergens
(Corporate/Private Equity, Frankfurt) and included partners Dr. Patrick
Meiisel and Dr. Bettina Bokeloh (both Tax, Frankfurt) and associate Dr.
Patrick Wacker (Corporate/Private Equity, Frankfurt).
