Ultra Allround: design-based unit for high open ceilings

Meets enhanced design requirements in the public and industrial sector

(PresseBox) - Kampmann, the air conditioning technology manufacturer, is launching a modern design-based ceiling unit with its Ultra Allround, developed to heat and cool large spaces and halls. The circular unit conveys warm or cold air into the occupied zone from a height of up to seven metres, creating a comfortable climate there. When heating, the unit discharges warm air at a high pulse rate vertically downwards, utilising the thermal energy that is lost under the ceiling with many other systems. This results in efficient air conditioning due to low temperature stratification, i.e. less unwanted thermal uplift of warm air. The Ultra Allround operates within a heat output range of up to 50 kW.

The Ultra Allround can also be used for cooling, for example with a heat pump. In cooling mode, the cool air is discharged from the side rather than from underneath, is distributed horizontally in all directions, and mixes comfortably with the room or hall air when it falls into the occupied zone. The unit thus offers considerable added value in hot summers if there is a lot of process heat or sensitive production processes. At normal heat pump system temperatures of 7/12 °C, the Ultra Allround provides up to 21 kW of cooling output. A servomotor is responsible for changing the air outlet from heating to cooling mode.

The product design meets the multifaceted design requirements of building services designers – a high-quality design unit that blends into open-ceilinged interior architecture. Visual demands are becoming increasingly exacting in areas with public traffic, such as supermarkets, stores, and also in production areas. Full or partial metal casings in the customer’s colour of choice are also available, which make the casing stand out more or less from the EPP body of the Ultra Allround.

EPP stands for “expanded polypropylene” and is the sustainable and lightweight material that makes up a much of the design of the unit. Kampmann has put considerable effort into shaping the foam. This is because only perfectly fitting EPP components enable the operator to maximise the benefits of the material: accurate air flow in the unit with a high level of air-tightness for maximum efficiency. Installers also benefit from EPP, as the lightweight material enables the unit to be installed with ease even at high mounting heights. EPP is environmentally friendly as it significantly reduces material costs compared to metals, and is fully recyclable.

Building block for energy-efficient renovation

Kampmann is targeting the Ultra Allround at the design-based new-build market, but it also represents an attractive building block for companies wishing to make the switch to a heat pump for the renovation of industrial halls, stores and supermarkets.

Kampmann GmbH & Co. KG is the market leader in the field of underfloor convectors as well as air heaters and one of the most established contacts for project-related air conditioning. There is a long tradition of building cooling with water-guided systems, which are increasingly establishing themselves as a forward-looking technology. The company offers its customers high quality support from planning to maintenance and employs around 1000 people worldwide.
