(PresseBox) - Green energy can be generated not only on land, but also on water.

Recently, the official launch of a floating solar power plant was announced in the Lausitz region of Brandenburg. It is located on an artificial lake and covers an area of about 16 hectares. It is said to be the largest floating solar plant in Germany. Operations are scheduled to begin in 2024. Approximately 51,000 solar modules are installed, and this is expected to provide electricity to more than 8,000 households. Floating bodies and pipes anchored in the ground stand for stability. This immediately brings to mind the (true) story of Rose Island. An engineer had created a platform in the sea off Rimini in a similar way. It became a micronation in 1968. It was demolished and the UN then moved the limits of territorial waters from six to twelve nautical miles off the coast. There is a film "The Rose Island" worth seeing, based on this true story.

But back to the floating, energy-promising buildings of the present and future. The wind power industry is also looking to the water. At WindEurope in Copenhagen, a small Irish company caused a stir. It was about a floating foundation on which wind turbines are built. These are supposed to generate up to 15 megawatts of power, while large wind turbines on land only manage about 5 megawatts. A fantastic idea, after all, the wind over the sea is more constant and stronger than on land. With offshore wind power, there is often the problem that a sea near the coast can be very deep, and normal offshore wind turbines have to be anchored to the seabed (usually at a maximum depth of 60 meters). Know-how and raw materials are needed like steel, zinc, nickel, copper. Electricity storage systems need lithium, the raw material that will experience increasing demand.

For example, Lithium owns Century Lithium - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/century-lithium-corp/ - at its Clayton Valley Lithium Project in Nevada.

In new technologies in the field of lithium anodes and lithium metal, Li-Metal - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/li-metal-corp/ - is one of the significant companies.

Current corporate information and press releases from Li-Metal (- https://www.resource-capital.ch/de/unternehmen/li-metal-corp/ -) and Century Lithium (- https://www.resource-capital.ch/de/unternehmen/century-lithium-corp/ -).
