Oracle Buys GoAhead
Extends Communications Industry Portfolio With Service Availability and Management Software

Oracle today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire GoAhead Software, a pioneer in the development and delivery of packaged service availability software for the communications industry.
The combination is expected to benefit network equipment providers (NEPs) by providing a more comprehensive and integrated offering that delivers service availability across telecom solutions.
Service availability delivers the highest level of service up-time and is required for real-time network applications that are in the call path of communication services.
GoAhead, a privately held company based in Bellevue Washington, provides carrier-grade software that speeds the time to market and reduces the cost and risk of carrier-grade services that need to be always available.
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close before the end of 2011. Until the deal closes, each company will continue to operate independently.
