GROB Press Conference for the EMO on September 18, 2023

Statement by Wolfram Weber Vice Chairman of the Board&CFO of GROB-WERKE (check against delivery)

(PresseBox) - Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press,

I would like to briefly outline the economic situation of the GROB Group.

In the past fiscal year 2022/23, which ended in February, the GROB Group achieved an output of EUR 1.55 billion. This is an increase of 32% compared to the previous year. At the same time, profitability also improved significantly.

From our point of view, this is a remarkable fact, since GROB, like many other

companies, was heavily burdened by the massive disruptions in global supply chains, but also by the challenges arising from the transformation to electric mobility and the costly investments in development, infrastructure and personnel.

As in previous years, the GROB Group's output is distributed relatively evenly among the three major sales regions of America, Europe and Asia. It should be noted, however, that the Asian share has decreased somewhat compared to previous years. This is mainly due to strong demand from Europe and North America, but Asia and especially China remain important sales regions for GROB.

Assembly technology for products in the field of electromobility currently accounts for the largest share of the GROB Group's output. It is thus ahead of the machining technology, which now also supplies around 30 % of e-mobility products. The universal machine business and the after-sales area also grew significantly.

On the customer side, GROB serves almost all major OEMs and TIER1 suppliers in the automotive industry.

It is an essential part of GROB's strategy not to be dependent on individual sales regions, technologies or customers.

I would like to say a few words about our after-sales area, which is particularly close to my heart. Thanks to a large number of new innovative service concepts for all GROB technologies to increase customer productivity and a consistent activation of our after-sales activities, we have succeeded in raising order intake in after-sales to a new level. In the past fiscal year, after-sales order intake rose from EUR 115 million to EUR 173 million in the Group. This is relevant for us for two reasons. On the one hand, excellent service is important for our customers and a decisive purchasing argument for the future; on the other hand, after-sales also contributes disproportionately to profitability at GROB.

In the past fiscal year, investments of over EUR 100 million were made throughout the entire GROB Group. This also includes capitalized development costs. Total development costs remain at a good 50 million euros per year. This ensures that GROB will continue to have an attractive and technologically leading product portfolio and the corresponding production capacities in the future.

Our business planning assumes annual increases in output of 10 to 15 % in subsequent years. On the earnings side, we expect a further improvement.

In the current and following fiscal years, the entire GROB Group will continue to invest heavily. Particularly worthy of mention are new production halls at the Mindelheim and Bluffton locations, but also the construction of our new plant in Bangalore.

From a commercial point of view, the first half of the new fiscal year 2023/24 has been pleasing. Output volume after the first six months is around EUR 850

million EUR. This represents an increase of 17% compared with the previous year. The good order intake, but also the improved material availability and

economies of scale and learning effects in e-mobility, will contribute to achieving the planned growth and earnings targets.

The entire GROB Group currently employs around 8,400 people. This means that around 600 new employees have been recruited compared with the previous year. The qualification and further training of both new and existing employees is a high priority for us.

GROB's financing is based on our project cash flows, and thus on the

the internal financing power of the GROB Group. In addition, we were able to conclude a new syndicated loan agreement with a term of three years plus an extension option of a further two years with a significantly increased volume.

We are thus in an optimal starting position to finance further growth and investments in the future. This gives the GROB Group flexibility and security. At the same time, this is also a sign of the confidence of our banking syndicate in the strategy and creditworthiness of the GROB Group.

Since the EMO is essentially about machining, I must also emphasize from a commercial point of view that at GROB, machining in the systems business, but also in universal machines, will remain a very important mainstay of the GROB Group in the future.

Despite a difficult market situation, in the first half of the new fiscal year we succeeded in increasing sales of universal machines by over 10 % compared to the previous year. Sales in the machining technology sector also remained stable despite tough competition.

We have succeeded in offering products in the field of machining which, on the one hand customers' needs, but also make an important contribution to the financial stability of the GROB Group.

Thank you for your attention.
