More Than 5,529 Acres of Farmland to Sell at Auction in Kentucky, USA
(firmenpresse) - LEXINGTON, KY -- (Marketwire) -- 09/28/11 -- More than 5,529 acres of quality Kentucky farmland in the United States will sell in a major farmland auction on Wednesday, Nov. 16. The farmland will be part of an auction that will include several large homes and a state-of-the-art center for showing and selling livestock.
"Investors are finding that there are few large contiguous farm properties currently on the market, so this property near Lexington should appeal to them," said Gene Klingaman, vice president of , which will conduct the auction.
The auction will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the Lexington Convention Center. Online bidding will be available by prior arrangement for those who cannot attend.
The land had been accumulated by Ralph G. Anderson, the late founder of Belcan Corp., who acquired neighboring estates and farms to create what eventually became known as Anderson Circle Farms. "We'll be selling three historic homes and several other very majestic estates that were part of the property," said Klingaman. "These homes were carefully restored by Mr. Anderson and would be ideal for either a full-time resident or an investor visiting the area," he said.
The properties will be offered in 54 tracts, including a number of tracts that are strictly tillable land and others that are a combination of tillable land and pasture. The tillable tracts range in size from 21 acres to 388 acres. Bidders will be allowed to bid on combined groups of tracts or on the entire property.
"Mr. Anderson was a true innovator and put great care into management of the property. Every building, road, gate, fence, utility line and meter was recorded and coded. And the land itself has benefited from sound practices such as limited chemical usage, and from soil conservation practices such as no-till management," said Klingaman.
