(firmenpresse) - SOUTH WINDSOR, CT -- (Marketwire) -- 09/28/11 -- Although rumors of a Sex and the City musical have so far been false, audiences will be able to see two of the show's stars on Broadway in Wit and Private Lives this fall.
Tony winner Cynthia Nixon will be starring in the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Wit, by Margaret Edson. The play focuses on the life of Vivian Bearing (played by Nixon), a poetry professor undergoing a new experimental treatment for cancer. Nixon previously won a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for Rabbit Hole, and she has also received multiple Emmy Awards for her work on television.
A few blocks away, Nixon's former costar Kim Cattrall will perform in a revival of Noel Coward's Private Lives, about a man and woman who have been divorced for five years yet find themselves back together while on honeymoons with their new spouses.
Private Lives will begin previews at the Music Box Theatre November 6, with an official opening scheduled for November 17. The limited run is scheduled to end February 5, 2012. Wit is currently scheduled for an open run, beginning previews January 5, 2012, and opening January 26.
