The room rates for hotel guests in Oslo soared by 13 % to RUB 6,223.45 on average. So, a one night stay in the Norwegian capital was the most expensive one by international comparison. But in other Scandinavian cities, accommodation was also not exactly cheap. One reason is the weaker Russian currency to these countries. Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki took the third, fifth and eighth place. The hotels of the Danish capital benefited, for example, from the Triathlon KMD Challenge Copenhagen 2011.
A bit on the expensive side was Moscow on the other hand. An increase by 16.51 % to RUB 6,050.86 secured the second place for the Russian capital. Just half the amount had to be paid in Berlin and Madrid. Holiday makers and business travellers paid around RUB 2,910 per night in the popular cities
Among other big cities, New York, the Big Apple, continues to take the first place, closely followed by Rio de Janeiro.
Zurich, too, saw a marked increase in room rates to RUB 6,793.24 on average.
