Abitibi Metals increased the contained metal at its B26 copper and gold deposit
(PresseBox) - Abitibi Metals (WKN A3EWQ3 / CSE AMQ) increased the contained metal at its B26 copper and gold deposit to 307.9 million pounds of copper, 316.9 million pounds of zinc, 168,200 ounces of gold and 11.6 million ounces of silver – or 532.3 million pounds of copper equivalent – with the latest resource update recently published. However, this increase of over 60% is only an interim step, as the drills have already continued to turn during the resource calculation.
CEO Jonathon Deluce’s company has now succeeded in identifying additional, highly promising exploration targets by using new, cutting-edge geophysical techniques. Previously, electrical surveys could not distinguish between mineralization and pyritic/graphitic rock. However, new data processing tools and downhole gravity surveys, such as Gravilog, are now improving target discrimination at depth. Abitibi intends to use these and other customized geophysical techniques to better investigate the high-grade extension of the B26 deposit.
