TUM Campus Heilbronn invites you to the second EUrope event

(PresseBox) - The war in Ukraine continues, the new US administration is questioning the Western community of values, and populist politicians are threatening democracy – there is no doubt that Europe is at a turning point. What does the diverse community have in common? What narratives inspire people and allow them to work together to find European solutions to the major challenges of our time?

These questions will be discussed at the second EUrope event, which is entitled “Europe at a Turning Point” and will take place from May 21 to 23 at TUM Campus Heilbronn and various other locations. The public part of the event will feature a diverse program of scientific lectures, a European speech and a panel discussion on the European idea.

The event will be opened on May 21 at 6 p.m. in the Heilbronn City Hall. Prof. Dr. Frank Baasner, long-standing director of the German-French Institute, and Matthias Schäfer, head of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation's office in Algeria, will give plenary lectures to introduce the topic.

On May 22, the students will visit the Strasbourg Education Campus to talk to members of the Council of Europe and to experience the integral parts of political processes up close.

On May 23, the students will deepen their theoretical knowledge and develop their own European visions at a future workshop.

The official conclusion of the Europe Week will begin at 6 p.m. at the Park Hotel Heilbronn. The agenda includes a speech on Europe and a concluding podium discussion with the participation of students, politicians and scientists.

The event language is English.
