Automatica 2025: Stäubli Robotics showcases its full-service offerings

(PresseBox) - Under the motto "We make work easy and safe," Stäubli Robotics will present a comprehensive automation program at Automatica, the leading smart automation and robotics trade fair. From harsh to hygiene-sensitive to sterile, Stäubli’s range covers all production environments. The latest developments, including robots with and without AI, mobile platforms, forklift AGVs, digital solutions and software tools, are taking productivity to a new level.

Peter Pühringer, Managing Director of Stäubli Robotics, explains the company’s market-focused development strategy: "On the hardware side, we are focused on expanding our range to include mobile robotics solutions and will present three AGVs at Automatica, including the world's first cleanroom mobile robot for use in aseptic environments. On the software side, we will present a global debut in Munich. In cooperation with Robominds, we are opening a new chapter in AI-supported robotics at Stäubli."

AI opens up a new array of applications

The combination of Stäubli robots and AI from Robominds, a specialist in AI for industrial robotics, opens up completely new possibilities. Intelligent robots are destined for a whole range of new tasks, particularly applications involving small batch sizes and high numbers of variants. One major advantage is that AI-powered robots can recognize, grip, and sort items in all variations. There is no need for constant programming and training for new variants. Taking on new tasks is also quick and easy: Simply select the appropriate AI skill from the Robominds library.

A logistics solution for the mail-order industry

At Booth 315 in Hall B5, Stäubli Robotics will demonstrate how the interaction of AI robotics, AGVs, and control expertise can be used to handle a typical logistics task in mail-order processing simply, quickly and safely. In the demo, a PF3 mobile transport platform loaded with various shipping goods drives under a gantry with a TX2-160L ceiling-mounted robot. Thanks to AI, the six-axis robot recognizes the goods on the PF3, picks them up, and sorts them for correct placement on conveyor systems for further internal transport. The mobile robot can communicate with the TX2-160L via Stäubli's fleet management system to ensure safety.

Mobile robots are making their way into aseptic areas

In addition to the PF3 mobile transport platform, two other mobile solutions will be on display at Stäubli’s booth, including the FL1500 self-propelled counterbalanced forklift, which was developed in close cooperation with the Mercedes-Benz logistics planning team. Built for use in confined spaces, the FL1500 features a compact design that gives it excellent maneuverability and a very small turning radius.

“A real highlight of the trade fair is, of course, our highly innovative Sterimove platform solution for cleanrooms of all kinds. The fully encapsulated vehicle is the only one of its kind in the world certified for GMP Class A/B/C/D sterile environments. This opens up completely new possibilities for users in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors,” says Peter Pühringer.

Easier than ever: Simulating, commissioning, monitoring, and optimizing

The software developers at Stäubli have also made a major contribution to the company’s full range of solutions, as evidenced by the 2025 version of Stäubli Robotics Suite. Through consistent ongoing development, the software tool has become a complex, high-performance PC-based software platform for smart production. Of particular note, Stäubli Robotics Suite 2025 is now fully compatible with the Siemens Process Simulate software.

Stäubli’s SCOPE digital solution has also been updated and is sure to impress at Automatica. With this tool, monitoring and optimizing robot fleets is seamless and easier than ever. It analyzes the status and load of the robots in real time, detecting irregularities and process changes before production quality declines, components are damaged, or failures occur. With these and other tried-and-tested innovations, Stäubli supports companies in nearly every industry, making their production not only simple and safe, but also more efficient and sustainable.
