The Imaging Source Announces New Acuva Series: GMSL2 Cameras for Embedded Vision Applications

(PresseBox) - The Imaging Source, international manufacturer of machine vision cameras and industrial imaging software, announces the launch of its Acuva series, the company’s first camera line with a GMSL2 interface. Acuva combines high-speed data transfer, extended cable support, IP67-rated housing, and a complete ecosystem of accessories to simplify embedded vision integration in demanding industrial environments.
The Imaging Source: One Partner. One Solution. Complete Confidence.
The Acuva series enhances The Imaging Source’s embedded portfolio, offering developers a cost-effective way to link high-performance image capture with powerful edge processing platforms. With data speeds up to 6 Gbps, these cameras deliver reliable, low-latency image transfer and simplified cabling via Power over Coax (PoC) over distances of up to 15?meters.
Initial prototypes will be available with four sensor variants for diverse embedded vision needs: the onsemi AR0234 (2.3 MP global shutter), Sony IMX900 (3.2 MP global shutter), and Sony IMX568 (5.1 MP global shutter) for fast-moving scenes, as well as the onsemi AR2020 (20 MP rolling shutter) for applications requiring maximum image detail.
Complete Ecosystem for Faster Integration
To help engineers cut development time and integration risks, The Imaging Source provides a complete GMSL2 solution: reference designs for NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX/Nano (JetPack 6.2 and newer), IP67 coaxial cabling, M12 lenses, and newly released 4-channel deserializer boards for both GMSL2 and FPD-Link III cameras. Designed to pair with The Imaging Source’s embedded cameras and reference platforms, they ensure efficient integration from sensor to system.
“We developed this new GMSL2 camera series to strengthen our embedded approach, position ourselves early in a growing market, and respond to increasing customer demand for robust and cost-efficient solutions,” said Momchil Binev, Senior Product Manager at The Imaging Source.
Innovation Through Partnership - Simplify Your Vision
Acuva cameras have been validated with platforms including Neousys NRU-160-AWP and NRU-51V series as well as Connect Tech Rudi-NX, with pre-verified compatibility for Neousys rugged, IP66 waterproof industrial PCs to help customers focus on application development and give them a competitive edge.
