4,000 US dollars per troy ounce of gold jumped

Since the turn of the millennium, the price of gold has been rising. Inflation in the USA is stubborn, trouble spots are making the safe haven more attractive and the money supply has been expanded by the central banks. Deglobalization and increased demand by central banks to reduce their dependence on the U.S. dollar are also having an effect. This year alone, the price of gold is on a gigantic high. The policies of the incumbent US president have certainly contributed to this. Confidence in the American currency has fallen and so gold has benefited enormously in terms of price.
Not to be forgotten are the interest rate cuts by the Fed, which are giving the precious metal an additional boost. The question investors are now asking themselves is what will happen next. Not everyone expects new price increases, because wars like the one in Ukraine could be ended or investors are resorting to profit-taking. The renowned US investment bank Goldman Sachs, on the other hand, forecasts a further price increase to $4,900 for December 2026 (previously the forecast was $4,300). In the latest issue of the magazine, Focus Money calculates the potential for the gold price to rise to up to 44,350 US dollars per ounce over the next 20 years. From 1972 to 1980, the price of the precious metal actually rose by 1,500 percent. If this were to happen again, then in a few years you would see 50,000 US dollars per ounce as the price.
