IT expert and hardware provider BRESSNER Technology introduces the new NRU-160-FT, a series of powerful edge AI computers with a flat heatsink design for integration in sealed enclosures
(PresseBox) - BRESSNER Technology, a system integrator and value-added distributor for industrial hardware solutions, announces the availability of the new NRU-160-FT series from its partner Neousys Technology.
These compact, fanless edge AI computers are specifically designed for installation in closed or sealed enclosures, offering high computing performance with efficient and fully passive heat dissipation. This makes them ideal for applications in smart agriculture, factory automation, road infrastructure, and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) operating in outdoor environments.
Thermal Design for Demanding Applications
Powered by NVIDIA® Jetson Orin™ NX or Orin™ Nano, the NRU-160-FT series delivers up to 100 Sparse TOPS (INT8) of AI inference performance while consuming only 25 watts.
Its flat heatsink design is engineered to conduct heat directly through the mounting surface to the enclosure, which is a key benefit for operation in sealed metal housings where active cooling is not possible. This allows the systems to operate at ambient temperatures of up to 70°C without throttling.
With a compact footprint of 199 × 136 × 49 mm, the NRU-160-FT series integrates seamlessly into mobile platforms or control cabinets. M12 and FAKRA connectors ensure robust, vibration-resistant connections suitable for industrial and in-vehicle applications.
Two Variants for Maximum Flexibility
The NRU-160-FT series includes two model variants, designed for different integration requirements and with four AI module options each:
NRU-161V-FT: featuring six GMSL2 automotive camera inputs via FAKRA Z connectors, compatible with IMX390, ISX031, and IMX490 CMOS sensors
NRU-162S-FT: featuring four PoE+ GbE ports for IP or industrial GigE cameras, as well as an additional M12 GbE port for high-speed communication with LiDAR systems or other devices
Both models offer CAN FD and RS-232 interfaces, an 8–35 V DC power input with ignition control, and expansion options via mini-PCIe and M.2 B-Key slots for 4G/5G or wireless modules.
Built for Industrial and Outdoor Environments
The new NRU systems are designed for dusty, humid, or vibration-prone environments, making them ideal for autonomous vehicles, smart city infrastructure, and agricultural control systems. Due to the optimized thermal design, the system typically operates 10–15°C cooler than the internal enclosure temperature, significantly improving component longevity and long-term stability.
