Redzone Annual General Meeting Results
(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/05/11 -- Redzone Resources Ltd. ("Redzone" or the "Corporation") (TSX: REZ) is pleased to announce the results of its annual general meeting, held Friday, September 30, 2011. There were aggregate of 12 shareholders present at the meeting, in person or by proxy, holding an aggregate of 13,081,277 shares, or 30.52% of the total number of issued and outstanding shares of the Corporation.
The Redzone shareholders approved all of the resolutions presented at the meeting, including the reappointment of Davidson and Company LLP as auditors of the Corporation.
The shareholders affirmed all of the nominees, re-electing Michael Murphy, Colin Benner, and Richard Godfrey; and electing those appointed in 2011, namely Alan Matthews, Gary Brown and Matthew Watson as directors of the Corporation.
President and CEO, Michael Murphy, came to Redzone Resources after 15 years in London working with Merril Lynch and Credit Suisse. He is formerly the President and CEO of Gleichen Resources and remains on that company's board of directors.
Colin Benner, Chairman of the Board, has over 40 years' experience in senior management and executive roles in the Canadian and International mining industry. Mr. Benner is a member of several associations of professional engineers and geoscientists across Canada and currently sits on the board of several public mining companies.
Lead Director, Matthew Watson, has over two decades of diverse business experience and currently manages a private investment fund. He has acted as a senior officer and/or directors of several successful public companies including COO of Carmanah (2003-2006).
Richard Godfrey has a wealth of experience in the mining industry, and since 1988 he has served on several boards. Previously he was VP of Finance and CFO for companies such as Breakwater Resources and EuroZinc Mining.
Alan Matthews is a Mining Engineer and a Chartered Engineer (C. Eng.) with more than 30 years of mining and exploration experience in the minerals industry, specializing in gold, copper and industrial minerals.
Gary Brown is a finance professional with over 20 years of experience across a range of finance and business disciplines, he was CFO of TIR Systems Ltd. and held senior finance positions at CAE Inc., Westcoast Energy Inc., and Creo Inc.
