New Machinery Regulation from 2027: BORRIES provides support for new machines and retrofit projects

(PresseBox) - Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 will become binding. It replaces the previous Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and applies to machines that are placed on the market or put into service for the first time from this date. In addition, significant changes to existing machines, for example as part of conversions or retrofit projects, may result in the requirements of the new regulation having to be applied.
BORRIES Marking Systems GmbH supports machine operators and plant manufacturers in designing marking systems in a technically sensible and standard-compliant manner in the course of new investments or planned modernizations. Existing machines that were placed on the market before the effective date and continue to be operated without significant changes remain subject to the previous Machinery Directive.
Technical support for new systems and modernizations
BORRIES offers practical solutions for marking systems that need to be adapted as part of new machine projects or retrofit measures. These include the new BORRIES BMC machine controller with modern safety architecture, the updating of emergency stop and safety logic, and the modernization of industrial PC-based systems, for example through Windows 11 upgrades including software and data migration.
Planning reliability through early assessment
As part of a technical analysis, BORRIES supports its customers in assessing whether planned changes can be classified as significant changes and what measures may result from them. Early planning creates reliability – both from a technical and organizational perspective.
With this approach, BORRIES supports companies in further developing their marking technology in a targeted and needs-based manner – in a practical, economical way and with a view to future regulatory requirements.
