CollegeAdvantage, Ohio's 529 College Savings Plan, Helps Bring College Within Reach

(firmenpresse) - COLUMBUS, OH -- (Marketwire) -- 10/05/11 -- The Ohio Tuition Trust Authority is helping bring college a little closer for families who open a new CollegeAdvantage 529 account with a limited time bonus offer. Families who open a new CollegeAdvantage direct account by November 18, 2011 with an initial contribution of $100 or more and use the promo code SAVINGS can receive a $50 bonus.
The bonus offer is part of the Tuition Trust's campaign efforts to encourage early college savings. The Tuition Trust also recently re-launched its CollegeAdvantage.com website with a new look, easy access to information, and an expanded and searchable FAQ section to help make it easier for families to save. The new website also has video testimonials from current account owners sharing their stories as to why they opened a CollegeAdvantage account for their children and grandchildren.

Ohio's plan is rated as one of the best 529 plans in the country for its low fees, diverse investment options and program flexibility. CollegeAdvantage makes it easy for families to save for college and offers a diverse choice of investment options from leading fund managers. Funds invested in CollegeAdvantage can be used at any college in the country to pay tuition, fees, books and room and board. Earnings in the plan are free from state of Ohio and federal taxes when used for qualified higher education expenses. Contributions to CollegeAdvantage can be made easily through payroll deduction; electronic funds transfer (EFT) or online. Any Ohio taxpayer who contributes to a CollegeAdvantage account can deduct up to $2,000 per contributor (or married couple) per beneficiary annually.
