New at airberlin: Collecting miles on American Airlines flights
(firmenpresse) - airberlin passengers can now also collect miles on flights operated by codeshare partner American Airlines. Cooperation between the topbonus and AAdvantage frequent flyer programmes will come into effect on 29th September. This means that members of airberlin’s topbonus scheme can collect award miles on all American Airlines routes. These miles can also be redeemed for award flights. AAdvantage customers can collect and redeem miles on airberlin and also on NIKI flights. “The international integration of route networks offers major growth opportunities for airberlin. We are pleased to be further extending our existing codeshare partnership with American Airlines. The possibility to collect topbonus miles on all American Airline routes represents an important step,” explained Paul Gregorowitsch, Chief Commercial Officer airberlin.
To collect miles, topbonus customers simply need to quote their topbonus number during the booking process or present their topbonus card at the check-in desk. The miles earned on American Airlines flights are automatically credited to the topbonus account.
Currently more than 2.7 million passengers are members of the topbonus programme and enjoy the exclusive benefits offered by the many topbonus partners, such as hotel accommodation, rental cars, insurance policies and newspapers. With airberlin planning to join oneworld® in 2012, topbonus will become even more attractive for status customers: in future passengers will be able to earn miles on flights with partner airlines throughout the world.
