Weever Apps

The Fastest Way from Zero to Apps

A mobile app company has won Hamilton's first entrepreneurial "Lion's Lair" competition and will be using their grand prize winnings to hire additional developers to accelerate growth offering instant, affordable apps to organizations in Canada and around the world.

Weever Apps is a new service that allows users on mobile devices to view your current website as a true web app for iPhone, Blackberry Touch, Android and tablets - instantly and affordably. Weever Apps reflect web site and social media updates instantly and start as low as $30/yr in a mobile business market where traditional app development costs average over $30,000.

"Lion's Lair" was a television reality-show style contest created by the Hamilton Innovation Factory and the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce. 10 finalists from over 60 initial business startups presented their pitch, business plan and invention to the "Lions" - Canadian business and media leaders including Ron Foxcroft of Fox 40 International Inc., Connie Smith of CSTV, and Dr. Nick Bontis of McMaster University, PJ Mercanti (Carmen's Inc.) and Ed Minich (EDSICOR Ltd.). Winners were recently announced on stage at a gala event hosted by Carmens Inc. and televised locally.

Changing the Mobile Web

"The mobile web is growing - and fast! In fact, today, over half of all local internet searches are done on a mobile device. Yet 80% of small businesses and most not-for-profits have (i)zero(i) mobile web presence. Unfortunately, current app development is expensive, technically complex, and out of reach for most individuals. Weever Apps changes this. We've created a way for almost any organization to have an app instantly - and affordably."

- Andrew J. Holden, Weever Apps co-founder
