Indokon Dimple Boards are produced from high-density polyethylene. The profiled dimple surface of each board creates a cavity that serves as a drainage plane when installed against a waterproofed wall or beneath a slab. This drainage cavity allows groundwater to flow away from the structure, reducing the hydrostatic pressure that acts on foundation walls and waterproofing systems. Sustained hydrostatic pressure is a primary driver of waterproofing membrane failure in underground structures, and the boards provide a passive, maintenance-free mechanism for its reduction.
The boards also function as a protective layer for waterproofing membranes during the backfilling phase of construction. When aggregate is compacted against a membrane surface, the risk of puncture or surface damage is significant. This protection is particularly valuable in projects where accessing and repairing a buried membrane would be structurally or financially prohibitive.
