Düsseldorf, October 14, 2011 - In the first half-year of 2011, getgoods.de
AG, a leading operator of online platforms for IT and telecommunication
products, has generated total revenues of approximately EUR 125m. This is
an increase of 150 % compared to the same period last year (H1 2010: EUR
50m).
This development is mainly due to the dynamics of a growing customer base
which has increased to a total of approximately 1m users in H1 2011.
Moreover, getgoods.de AG strongly benefits from the fast transition of
consumer markets from stationary trade towards online shopping as well as
the expansion of its product portfolio.
In the first half-year of 2011, the company has also significantly
increased its marketing activities (+ 300 % year on year) in order to both
gain new customers for their different online shops and to increase
customers' loyalty. Part of this strategy is for example the recently
launched 'getgoods.de lounge'. This special community, currently counting
more than 0.3m members, offers exclusive services as well as financing
advantages.
Despite the higher marketing expenses, the company's EBIT has grown even
faster than revenues, by 157 % from EUR 1.2m to EUR 3.0m in H1 2011.
The getgoods.de AG executive board is confident that the business will
develop even stronger in the second half of 2011, and that the company can
therefore reach full year revenues of over EUR 300m.
