CenterBeam Launches CenterBeam 365+ Hosted Collaboration Suite

(firmenpresse) - SUNNYVALE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/17/11 -- CenterBeam Inc., a pioneer in delivering hosted IT services, today announced the launch of CenterBeam 365+™, a hosted collaboration suite that gives mid-sized enterprises best-in-class solutions with the functionality and familiarity of on-premise offerings and the convenience and cost-effectiveness of the cloud.
With CenterBeam 365+, users get more than what's offered in Microsoft® Office 365. CenterBeam 365+ includes Microsoft Office® Web Apps, Microsoft SharePoint®, Microsoft Lync™ and Microsoft® Exchange. But unlike Exchange Online, CenterBeam 365+ does not eliminate many of the features of the on-premise Exchange solution. Instead, CenterBeam 365+ delivers in the cloud 17 on-premise features of Exchange in the categories of administration, applications, client access, compliance/archiving, directory, security and voice mail. CenterBeam 365+ also delivers enhanced security and archiving, seamless integration into the user's existing environment, experienced implementation, single vendor accountability and live 24x7 support from the company's North American-based customer care team.

Compared to Microsoft Office 365, which is a consumer class solution for hosted collaboration, CenterBeam 365+ enables enterprises to integrate their infrastructure, delivering the features and functionality of an on-premise solution in the cloud. Additionally, CenterBeam 365+ does not require enterprises to undertake costly software upgrades or purchase and maintain servers to retain certain functionalities. For example, CenterBeam 365+ continues to support PST files, so enterprises do not have to upgrade/implement SharePoint; it supports Outlook 2003, eliminating the requirement to upgrade to Outlook 2010; and it offers real single sign-on for any version of Activity Directory without the need for ADFS 2.0.

CenterBeam 365+ is built from the ground up to deliver enterprise-class security. Both CenterBeam and its datacenter partner, CenturyLink (formerly Qwest Communications, International), are SAS-70, Type-II certified. Additional resiliency is provided as CenterBeam hosts a domain controller for its customers' Active Directory to ensure a constant flow of and access to e-mail if service is interrupted at the customer site.
