The Manchester Blog Awards were established in 2006 by Kate Feld, in response to the growing numbers of writers, artists and photographers in the city who use blogs to publish their work online. The sixth annual award ceremony recognized excellence in blogging from the cultural hub of Manchester, United Kingdom.

Eligible blogs were submitted during the public nominating period and a shortlist in each category was created. The results of subsequent public voting on the shortlist were tallied together with the choices of a judging panel to determine the 2011 winners.
