Profit growth continuously dynamic in Q3
- Nine months EBITDA +77% compared to previous year
- Strong closing quarter expected
Wessling, October 24, 2011 - The outstanding event for Mensch und Maschine
Software SE (MUM - ISIN DE0006580806), a CAD/CAM specialist company, in the
third quarter definitely was the news on Sept 9 of the sale of the entire
Distribution business by the end of October and the subsequent transition
to a VAR business, i.e. from indirect to direct sales, in Europe.
However, Q3 also was a sound operating quarter. M+M continued the dynamic
profit growth, with EBITDA amounting to EUR 6.21 mln (PY: 3.52 / +77%)
after the first nine months. Net earnings jumped to EUR 1.36 mln (PY:
0.20), after minority shares, or 9 Cents per share (PY: 1). Due to the
decreasing weight of distribution, combined with relative cost reduction
effects, sales amounting to EUR 154.73 mln (PY: 142.08 / +8.9%) were
sufficient to produce these results. Gross yield increased to 34.4% (PY:
33.2%), resulting in a EUR 53.29 mln (PY: 47.18 / +13%) gross margin.
With 19% sales increase to EUR 48.93 mln (PY: 41.03) and EBITDA amounting
to EUR 1.37 mln (PY: -0.75), the VAR segment has been profitable now for
four consecutive quarters, with profit jumping by more than EUR 2 mln
compared to the previous year. As the newly acquired acadGraph will be
consolidated from the beginning of Q4, these growth figures are purely
organic and free of any acquisition influences. On October 13, M+M's main
supplier Autodesk announced that M+M has been appointed Platinum partner as
one of just four European VARs, which not only implies higher status, but
also improved dealer discounts and closer major account project cooperation
with the supplier.
The Software segment came in with sales growing 17% to EUR 21.01 mln (PY:
18.00) and segment EBITDA increased by 41% to a sound EUR 2.78 mln (PY:
1.97) after nine months, defending the most profitable segment status
achieved in Q2.
In the Distribution segment, sales amounted to EUR 84.79 mln (PY: 83.04 /
+2.1%), and EBITDA came in at EUR 2.07 mln (PY: 2.30). Q3 alone represented
sales amounting to EUR 24.42 mln (PY: 25.02) and EBITDA amounting to EUR
0.41 mln (PY: 0.47).
'Our last quarter before the VAR transition altogether was quite orderly,
in spite of all the negative comments around on economic development' M+M
CEO Adi Drotleff states. ,As we still are expecting a strong closing
quarter, the business in the continued segments Software and VAR D/A/CH
should come in as targeted. Together with the expected non-recurring 2011
profit from the sale of the distribution business, in the order of
magnitude of EUR 5 mln (EBITDA) or 20 Cents per share (net profit),
respective, the target zones are increased for EBITDA to EUR 14-16 mln (PY:
6.1) and for EPS to 40-50 Cents (PY: -3). The planned dividend doubling to
20 Cents per share thus can be deemed as being secured.'
