Cubic Wins $19 Million Contract for Laser Engagement System
Agreement Has Four Option Years and Potential Value of More Than $200 Million

(firmenpresse) - SAN DIEGO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/24/11 -- Cubic Defense Applications, the business of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB), has won a competitive contract worth at least $19 million for the Instrumentable (I-MILES IWS).
The contract was awarded by the U.S. Army's Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI), which provides simulations training and testing capabilities for the nation's security.
The award, announced Sept. 27, is for an upgraded Performance Specifications that the Army calls I-MILES IWS 2010. The initial order is for the base year of a contract with four option years and a potential value of more than $200 million.
I-MILES IWS 2010 is the Army's latest-generation tactical engagement simulation system. It uses laser emitters mounted on actual weapons and on-body sensors to realistically replicate combat and record what happened for later review.
