Genesis Casket Debuts Product Line at NFDA Convention
Innovative Caskets Featuring Automotive Legacy to Be Unveiled at the Show
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 10/24/11 -- Casket manufacturer Genesis Casket Company will preview its line of metal caskets at Booth 476 at the National Funeral Director Association (NFDA) convention. This year's NFDA convention is being held at McCormick Place in Chicago.
"The Genesis product line is defined by three words -- quality, innovation, and value," said Tony Colson, president and chief operating officer of Genesis. "Genesis Casket understands that for funeral directors, high eye appeal and attractive price points are paramount. We are confident our caskets deliver on this premise and look forward to showcasing them at the convention."
The Genesis casket line is comprised of both 18 gauge carbon steel and premium stainless steel models. During the introductory period, the caskets will only be available in a select group of markets in the Midwest. The company plans to expand the number of markets offering Genesis caskets in early 2012.
"We are thrilled about bringing this new product line to market. It is the result of a close collaboration between Genesis and Gestamp North America, who brings a strong automotive design sensitivity and manufacturing expertise to these caskets," Colson stated. "And given our attractive price, we're convinced our product offering will give funeral directors a 'Made in America' option to the Chinese caskets presently being imported for sale here in the US."
These Genesis metal caskets offer a number of features that are commonplace in the automotive sector, but new to funeral service. These manufacturing methods run the gamut -- from how the metal is processed in the early stages of production to how the paint is applied to the caskets.
"We've been overwhelmed with the interest we have received since we announced our plans earlier this year to begin production," commented Colson. "Job applicants, suppliers, funeral directors and many others associated with funeral service are excited about the prospect of a new company building caskets here in the United States."
Genesis Casket is a new entity, headquartered in Indianapolis, IN and created in partnership with Gestamp North America, Inc., a global supplier of structural steel components for the automotive industry. Genesis is transforming how metal caskets are manufactured and distributed from its state-of-the-art Indianapolis plant.
