Cubic Gets New Order for Tactical Vehicle System

(firmenpresse) - SAN DIEGO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/27/11 -- Cubic Defense Applications, the business of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB), has received a task order of $16.8 million for Instrumentable Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System Tactical Vehicle System (IMILES TVS) kits from the U.S. Army's Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI).
The order is under an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract awarded last year. In August, PEO STRI issued a $13 million task order under the same contract. It was Cubic's first production order for the IMILES TVS system.
Cubic has been awarded about $36 million thus far under the ID/IQ contract, which covers a base year and four option years and has a potential value of more than $100 million.
IMILES TVS, the vehicular version of Cubic's man-worn (MILES IWS), equips HMMWVs and other tactical vehicles with the lasers, sensors and electronics used during force-on-force combat training exercises.
