The first BREEAM-certified property in Sweden

The property has now been assigned Sweden's firstBREEAM-certification. In Castellum's real estate portfolio there are74 properties with Green Building classification.The BREEAM-certificate is a method for environmental certification ofproperties which takes a holistic approach in environment andsustainability by criteria for global aspects, resource management,building materials and energy use. The certification is carried outand verified by an independent third part by the Britishenvironmental organization BREEAM (Building Research EstablishmentEnvironmental Assessment Method).Castellum already holds 74 properties with Green Buildingclassification with a total area of 370 thousand sq. m. through thesubsidiaries Fastighets AB Brostaden and Harry Sjögren AB. Thesubsidiaries have as the first and third company in Europe beenassigned by the EU as Green Building Corporate Partner. In order tobecome a Green Building Corporate Partner the energy consumption hasto be reduced with at least 25% in at least 30% of the real estateportfolio.Castellum is one of the major listed real estate companies in Sweden.The fair value of the real estate portfolio amounts to SEK 29billion, and comprises premises for office, retail, warehouse andindustrial purposes.
