Indie Studio Miralupa Launches Chromian Wars Game for iPhone(R) and iPad(R)
Montreal-Based Developer Is Creating the Next Generation of Mobile Augmented Reality Gaming
(firmenpresse) - MONTREAL -- (Marketwire) -- 10/31/11 -- Fresh from its Mobiz Awards nomination (in the Startup category), Miralupa today announced the release of its first mobile game, Chromian Wars. The title, which uses Augmented Reality (AR) to offer a completely new gaming experience, will premiere at the upcoming Montreal International Game Summit (MIGS) Nov. 1-2, and will be released on the App Store in Nov. 2011.
Founded in Jan. 2011, Miralupa aims at "bringing back the social dimension to the mobile game, a tabletop at a time," according to Elie Charest, the company's creative director. "What we are witnessing right now is a complete redefinition of the mobile gaming space due to the rapid development of smartphone technology," added Mathieu Dupont, CTO. "We're taking advantage of this new reality to produce an entire series of games and applications based on our development platform, MARGE™."
MARGE™ (Multiplayer Augmented Reality Gaming Experience), a collection of various technologies, is the keystone of the company's augmented reality game strategy, according to Serge Landry, Miralupa's CEO. "The platform gives us a unique advantage to conquer the augmented-reality social gaming space on mobile devices, as well as to offer innovative marketing and specialized applications," he said.
Miralupa was founded by three entrepreneurs with complementary skill sets: an experienced game designer/creative director, a software/systems architecture expert, and a seasoned sales/marketing manager. This unique combination of talents has allowed Miralupa to produce a first game in record time. "Our team is small," notes Serge Landry. "But we're agile and willing to grow our workforce as fast as required."
