Optimum West Insurance Company Rated No 1 by Brokers
(firmenpresse) - MONTREAL, QUEBEC -- (Marketwire) -- 10/31/11 -- Earlier this month, the Insurance Brokers Association of British Columbia issued the results of its biennial property and casualty insurer survey, in which Optimum West earned the top spot overall for its performance and service standards.
"These results are in line with our corporate goal to offer consistently high standards of service to our brokers and their customers. They also reflect the skills, knowledge and involvement of each one of our employees" said Martin Carrier, President and COO of Optimum West Insurance Company.
In the last few years Optimum West has been successful in achieving growth with its brokers while conserving a healthy combined ratio. Moreover despite a challenged business economy, its premium volume increased by 12%, fuelled by significant developments in commercial lines. One other highlight for Optimum West was the introduction earlier this year of a new residential product in B.C. which includes an option to offset a household's annual greenhouse gas emissions, a first in Canada.
The Vancouver insurer has increasingly and successfully built excellent relationships with its broker network. Consequently, the surveys from 2007 and 2009 placed Optimum West in the 3rd and 4th spot respectively. "Our broker-centric approach really makes a difference in developing our partnership with brokers" commented Jeremy Green, Regional Vice President for B.C. at Optimum West. "Understanding our brokers' perspective is a priority. We make every effort to put their needs first and we use this as a filter through which we run all decisions," added Green. That philosophy is evidently resonating with brokers who gave Optimum West top marks in commercial lines, claims handling and general management.
