Act to End Violence Against Women Introduced as New Brand for Jewish Women International of Canada
Launch coincides with Domestic Violence Awareness Month
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/01/11 -- was introduced today as the new brand for , effective immediately. For over a quarter century the organization has been a trusted resource in the sector through the provision of critical information and practical guidance to women suffering from abuse. The re-branding was announced to mark the first day of Domestic Violence Awareness month in Ontario and several other provinces across Canada.
"We re-branded our organization to more clearly reflect the work that we have done for the past 25 years in the violence against women (VAW) sector," explained , Executive Director of Act To End Violence Against Women. "We are committed to ending through education, advocacy and action and our new name now illustrates our mission."
offers workshops, educational materials and programs on against women for students in Grade 7 through University and for adults in the Jewish community and beyond, working with social services agencies, schools, government, sector partners and community groups to advocate for women who have experienced abuse and to raise awareness across Canada. The organization operates , 4 kosher shelter apartments in Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg and Vancouver in coordination with local Jewish Family Services.
