HL Display brings new technology to the shelf
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - HL Display announces a new, low-voltage "plug & play" infrastructure,PowerTrackTM,, which allows retailers to convert 220 V to 12 or 24 Vpower and make it accessible for digital shelf edge applications. Thenew infrastructure from HL Display opens up opportunities for a widerange of applications such as digital signage/retail-TV, theftprotection and RFID. The first application that HL Display islaunching is a unique lighting solution: Ad'LiteTM.This new innovation from HL Display meets the growing demand amongretailers for solutions that can bring "intelligence" to the shelfedge. The most common example so far is battery-operated electronicprice labels. However, to bring more advanced solutions to the shelfedge, the issue power supply needs to be resolved. HL Display hasdone this with PowerTrackTM, and the only limit now to the number ofin-store media applications that can be connected is the customer'simagination."With PowerTrackTM we are bringing a unique, cost-efficient andflexible solution to the market. It will open up many new andexciting possibilities for retailers to further enhance their productpresentation and in-store communication. For HL Display it's animportant entry into a new area where we see interesting futurepotential," says Gérard Dubuy, CEO of HL Display.HL Display's Ad'LiteTM adds atmosphere to the product presentationand creates an attractive in-store environment. Ad'LiteTM - which isbased on CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) technology - has apower consumption about half that of the fluorescent lamps (T5) usedtoday by stores and has a longer useful life. For continuous light,Ad'LiteTM is cost-competitive and more environment-friendly comparedto other light sources. It also has the advantage of transmittingvery little heat, making it the perfect solution for products thatdeteriorates when exposed to a normal fluorescent tube."Environmental considerations permeate all of our product developmentand with the new Ad'LiteTM lighting solution we can help ourcustomers enhance the in-store environment and provide a sellingatmosphere without compromising energy efficiency," says GérardDubuy, CEO of HL Display. For further information please contact CEO Gérard Dubuy, phone +468 683 73 00.High-resolution images can be downloaded fromwww.hl-display.com/eng/media (see enclosed pdf)HL Display is Europe's leading supplier of products and solutions formerchandising and in-store communication.
