- Includes NDS' MediaHighway set-top box software, VideoGuard conditional access, an NDS VOD solution and a customized EPG
NDS today announced that Kabel Deutschland, Germany's largest cable operator, has launched a new HD set-top box (STB) powered by NDS technologies. The new box includes NDS' MediaHighway® STB software, VideoGuard® conditional access, an NDS VOD solution and a customized electronic programme guide (EPG).
With this solution, Kabel Deutschland are able to drive High Definition and offer a mass market product that enables customers to access the Kabel Deutschland 'SELECT VIDEO' on demand service, available in a growing number of regions. The new HD STB was launched in early October and is manufactured by Sagemcom.

Kabel Deutschland already benefit from a number of NDS solutions operating within the Kabel Deutschland network and devices, including NDS' MediaHighway advanced STB software, NDS DVR technology, an electronic programme guide (EPG) and VideoGuard conditional access, which also protects Kabel Deutschland CI+ modules.
