(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/02/11 -- Anconia Resources Corp. (TSX VENTURE: ARA) ("Anconia" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that exploration has begun on the property near Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario in which Anconia acquired a 50% interest and has the option to acquire up to a 100% interest in such property pursuant to an option agreement (See press release dated September 2, 2011).
The Property
The property consists of 23 unpatented mining claims (comprised of 354 claim units or approximately 5,664 hectares), which are located in Gapp, Lunkie, and Dablon Townships, approximately 65 kms northeast of the City of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The property is accessible by logging roads and has year round access for both men and machines by a combination of road vehicles and snowmobiles.
The property, which will be referred to as the "SSM Property" by the Company, is in the southeast portion of the Batchawana Greenstone Belt.
October 2011 Exploration
The Company has dispatched a geological team to commence exploration on the SSM Property consisting of prospecting, geological mapping and rock sampling. This program will focus on areas which are believed to be prospective for gold mineralization. The results of the exploration program will be made public when available.
