CPIA Announces Carol Hochu as New President and CEO

(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/02/11 -- The Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA) today announced that Carol Hochu will become President and CEO effective January 2, 2012. CPIA is the national trade association for the plastics industry in Canada, representing a $27 billion industry with over 90,000 employees and 3,000 businesses across the country.

Hochu brings extensive trade association and industry group experience to CPIA. Most recently she served as Executive Director of Ontario Electronic Stewardship, a not-for-profit industry funding organization charged with implementing a province-wide electronic waste diversion program. Earlier in her career Hochu was President of the Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel Association and the Confectionery Manufacturers Association of Canada.

Paul Cohen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CPIA says, "I'm very pleased to welcome Carol to CPIA to continue our work of advocating for the plastics industry. Carol's skills and experience will help drive one of our highest priorities, which is to recover plastic resources that are currently going to landfills across Canada."
