Minister Ashfield lent his support to Prince Edward Island exhibitors at the yesterday, where he met with many potential buyers and sellers at what is the largest trade show of its kind in Asia.
Exports of fish and seafood from Prince Edward Island were valued at approximately $188 million in 2010, of which approximately $126 million went to Asia (consisting mainly of lobster, mussel, herring, Atlantic bluefin tuna, and other tuna species). China and Japan remained important markets for exports from the province, with values of $226,000 and $10 million respectively in 2010.
