Iowa, Kansas Farmland Set for Auction in Mid December

(firmenpresse) - CLARINDA, IA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/08/11 -- Approximately 1,654 acres of farmland in southwest Iowa and southwest Kansas will sell in two auctions set for Dec. 13-14. will manage both sales.

The Iowa auction of property in Page County, south of Clarinda and west of Bedford, will include a total of 955 acres, 827 acres of which are tillable. That auction will take place at the Fairgrounds in Clarinda at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13. The next day, bidders will compete for 699 acres south of Garden City, Kan. The Kansas auction will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at the Clarion Inn, Garden City.

"The Iowa land has an excellent record for productivity, with an average of 181 bushels per acre of corn and 49 bushels per acre of soybeans. More than 650 acres of this land have a corn suitability rating of 80 or above," said R.D. Schrader, president of the auction company.

"We're selling this Iowa land in 12 tracts, all of which are less than 135 acres, and most of which are less than 100 acres. This will provide an excellent opportunity not only for those who might wish to buy all the land, but also for farmers and investors who are only seeking relatively small amounts," he said.

The Kansas land features excellent water, according to Schrader. "The irrigation on this land is outstanding, with test rates as high as 760 gallons per minute," he said.
