(firmenpresse) - PALO ALTO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/14/11 -- m-Via™, the company revolutionizing how families save and share their wealth, today announced that it is partnering with Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Univision Networks, and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) to establish La Idea, a marketplace for Latino entrepreneurs to propose innovative business ideas that will generate employment and economic growth in the Americas.
Launching in summer 2012, La Idea will allow entrepreneurs working in Mexico and Central America to propose creative and scalable social and business ideas to support the local economy and U.S. trade to the region. Finalists will be invited to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Week in November 2012, where they will demonstrate the impact, sustainability, and scalability of their suggested projects. Following a competitive review of judges including m-Via along with other sector experts from development institutions, private sector companies, financial institutions, investors, and leaders from different diaspora communities, winning proposals will receive access to financing, partnership prizes, market linkages, and other support.
As part of Secretary of State Clinton's International Diaspora Engagement Alliance (IdEA), La Idea is intended to support the development of diaspora-centered partnerships that promote trade and investment, volunteerism, philanthropy, diplomacy, entrepreneurship, and innovation in countries of origin.
