Original1, a joint venture of SAP, Nokia and Giesecke & Devrient, is launching Original1 On-Demand, its new software-as-a-service solution, in China with general availability starting November 20, 2011. Original1 On-Demand enables brand owners, manufacturers and their business partners to secure their brand value and detect counterfeits and other illicit products throughout their value chain. Closing the gap towards an end-to-end solution, Original1 On-Demand also empowers consumers. The mobile SmartEye application, already preloaded on a wide range of Nokia smartphones in China, allows consumers to authenticate consumer products, medications, identity documents and diplomas quickly and conveniently, providing integrity and transparency throughout the entire value chain.
As the provider of the leading on-demand platform for trusted product information to protect people and brands, Original1 has a unique position in the market. The Original1 On-Demand solution offers complete software-as-a-service for serializing, tracking and authenticating products, allowing, for example, the detection of grey market activities and sales channel validation in real time.
