As a result of the negotiation processinitiated on September 30, 2009 a total of 11 persons in regularemployment will be reduced, some of whom will be covered with pensionarrangements. The reductions will be concluded by autumn 2010. Thereduction notice applied to 17 people.The employee negotiations initiated simultaneously in Fiber businessline's (FBL) units in Sweden still continue. The reductions are partof the process to streamline FBL's operations and cost structure, toimprove its competitiveness in a changing business environment.Metso's unit in Valkeakoski, which belongs to the company's Paper andFiber business lines, specializes in equipment and related expertservices for stock preparation, recycled fiber and mechanicalpulping.
