Heijmans awarded contract for construction of Royal Marechaussee
buildings at Schiphol
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - 's-Hertogenbosch - Heijmans Non-residential Building and Heijmans'subsidiary Burgers Ergon Technical Services will jointly realise theconstruction of the new buildings for the Royal NetherlandsMarechaussee at Schiphol. This involves an office building andquarters for accommodating Marechaussee personnel on duty. Thecontract was signed by the Dienst Vastgoed Defensie (Ministry ofDefence, Property Service) and Heijmans on Thursday 26 November. Theoverall contract is valued at approximately ?45 million.The contract consists of the realisation of 13,800 m2 GFA of officebuilding space and 12,700 m2 GFA of space for personnel quarters. Theproject is part of the overall development of the station atSchiphol. The exceptional design of these buildings was produced bythe Berlin architect Zvi Hecker.Several Heijmans business units are involved in this project. Asidefrom Heijmans Non-residential Building and Burgers Ergon, theHeijmans subsidiary Bestcon is also involved in this project for thesupply of prefab architectonic elements. The involvement of theseHeijmans business units in this project serves as a clear example ofthe 'integral approach' Heijmans can offer its customers.The first on site construction activities will start in February2010. Plans call for the project to be completed in the first quarterof 2012.For additional information
