Collective Agreement Ratified by CAW Local 1016
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/17/11 -- NAV CANADA today announced the successful conclusion of collective bargaining with the Canadian Auto Workers, Local 1016 which represents approximately 270 employees working as air traffic operational specialists, operational training specialists and other employees working in areas such as aeronautical information, flight billing, the national systems control centre and notices to airmen (NOTAM) office.
Members of CAW local 1016 voted in favour of the tentative agreement reached on October 22, 2011. The new collective agreement runs from July 1, 2011 until June 30, 2013 and provides for wage increases of 3 per cent on July 1, 2011, followed by a 3 per cent increase on July 1, 2012. A number of amendments and productivity enhancing changes also form part of the agreement, including removal of pensionable status of a training premium.
Marking 15 years as Canada's private sector civil air navigation services provider, with operations from coast to coast to coast, NAV CANADA provides air traffic control, flight information, weather briefings, aeronautical information services, airport advisory services and electronic aids to navigation.
